UPDATE:  According to the Edmonton Police Service, Donald Switzer returned home safe and unharmed on the afternoon of June 3, 2017.  Thank you to everyone who helped share about his disappearance.


ORIGINAL ARTICLE: EDMONTON— The Edmonton Police is asking for the local public’s assistance in locating missing 86 year old Donald Switzer out of the Edmonton, Alberta area.
David was last seen on  June 2, 2017. He was out with his family in the area of 101 Street and 100 Avenue the family had left David waiting in the family vehicle, when upon his family’s return at approximately 3:15 p.m., he could not be found, along with the vehicle and dog. He was in a 2005 blue Buick Allure with licence plate KKC 859. David was wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans.

Police said a resident spotted David at around 5 a.m. Saturday in the area of 97 Street and 132 Avenue and called police. The citizen was able to follow the missing senior to the area of 128 Avenue and 82 Street, but police said by the time they arrived, David was gone. Police said David suffers from dementia and “will be disoriented and lost.”


David is described as:

• GENDER: Male.
• ETHNICITY: Caucasian.
• HAIR: Grey/mostly bald with mustache.
• HEIGHT: 5 feet 10 inches.
• WEIGHT: Slim Build.
• OTHER: Wears glasses.
